Energy Efficient | Renewable | Sustainable
Hale is committed to eco-friendly construction.
We understand that protecting the environment is one of the most important challenges we face today. We support fully any transition to more sustainable production and consumption patterns.
We endeavour to:
- Organise our operations to ensure they have a minimal effect on the environment.
- Wherever possible, procure timber and raw materials from suppliers who demonstrate that their products come from well managed and environmentally sustainable sources (PEFC and FSC certified suppliers).
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation.
- Protect local communities from any pollution resulting from our operations.
- Monitor and reduce waste streams generated by our business.
- Operate an Environmental Management System (EMS), which as a minimum meets the requirements of BS EN 14001 and FSC/PEFC schemes.
- Continue to improve our environmental performance and to reduce our environmental impact.
- Provide all necessary environmental training for all our staff.
- Display and communicate our policy to interested third parties.
We are pioneers of recyclable and renewable building design and maintain high standards for energy efficiency. Our social, commercial and private projects make use of the following sustainable products:
- composite windows
- biomass boilers
- solar panels
- sheep wool insulation
- rainwater harvesting
- energy efficient M&E installations
- 'A' rated white goods
All projects employ site waste management plans and the company has ISO 9001:2008 Quality Systems in place.
