Glyncorrwg Mountain Bike Centre delivers superb facilities in the heart of Afan Forest Park for local campers and mountain bikers. The timber frame design incorporates a cafe, bike shop, lounge area, decking, showers and toilets. 

The scheme is a classic example of Hale’s innovative and sustainable methods. 

The original site featured only a toilet block. To minimise the impact of construction, Hale opted to refurbish the block and to incorporate it beneath a vaulted ceiling in the spectacular new building. This way, we were able to avoid any harm to the forest that destruction and removal might have caused. 

The project used local and sustainable sources for timber and other building materials. 

Despite the remote and inaccessible location, and the tight restrictions of the architectural tender, our builders completed the scheme on time and in budget. This was possible because of our meticulous project planning and our close working relationship with Neath Port Talbot council.
